Writing Feature Articles

3 Ways That You Can Write Featured Articles

I think that probably every article writer's hope is that one day they can be a feature article writer. It's actually much easier than you might think...Just listen to these three great tips, and you'll be well on your way in no time at all.

#1 - Become a better writer! This is the most obvious one, but it still needs to be said. Want to know how you can get people to like your writing better? Get better at writing! It takes practice, and it takes effort, to become really great at writing articles. Always try and get as much time writing in as you possibly can. Not only that, but play around with your writing style. Don't just stick to one thing...Try various techniques, different words, different styles...These will improve your writing skills.

In addition, anytime you have the opportunity to listen to a more skilled writer speak about his profession, make sure you're there, taking notes! These are the people who've done what you're trying to do...Make use of their skills!

#2 - The second thing to do is to make sure that you've done your research. There are quite a few really great writers who still aren't at a level where they could write features...Why? Because they don't know their topics well enough. If you really want to get to the top, then you have GOT to know everything about anything that you're writing. If you come at your readers as a powerhouse of information and knowledge, they'll pick up on that, and respect you for it.

#3 - The third thing to do is to request reader's thoughts on your writing whenever you can. Getting this sort of feedback is vital to improving your writing skills. Be open to critique at every chance that you get. In addition, don't let other's critiques fall on deaf ears...Listen to what people say!

Help writing feature article about Twilight? *details*? (Answers: 3) (Comments: 0)
Umm.. OK soo I am doing a feature article on Twilight, as English assignment, about how nearly everyone is obsessed with it and all. And how the book came out of no where and suddenly made a BIG blow. AND. I also have to include the fact that when I did survey on Twilight VS Harry Potter in my class 8 people said Twilight and 7 people said Harry Potter, meaning Twilight is more popular then one of the most popular books in the world in our school. Ooh yea, 10 people said they Don't Care/Haven't read it. So I need an idea on how to start a Feature Article (Theme, idea based article on an issue or event of interest. They are longer and include back group information to the issue/event) on that topic. Sorry if it was long. and fcking hell you better help me. i didn't do all that for no reason.
